Since his Gujarat years, Narendra Modi relies on the same strategies for conquering and retaining power: communal polarisation, national-populist communication techniques, the capture of institutions, the creation of oligarchs and vigilantism. These strategies have resulted in the unprecedented forms of authoritarianism, including a deeper state, and the making of a more inegalitarian socio-economic scene.
