Biography:

Through an engagement with creative literature (kāvya) of early South Asia and their commentaries, I aim to evaluate the space occupied by literature as tools of sociability and shaping of emotional norms in the first millennium CE. Consequently, I hope to explore and analyse the historical developments linked to the emergence of behavioural standards pertaining to emotions beyond the confines of the court and the city.
